DHS Posts New COVID-19 Reimbursement Form & FAQ

The Minnesota Department of Human Services has posted an updated form and FAQ about reimbursement for COVID-19 related costs on the Nursing Facility Provider Portal.  

The DHS expedited reimbursement program is the primary state program to provide assistance to nursing homes in response to COVID-19. The form captures increased costs for payroll and equipment related to preparing for and responding to the emergency. 

Upon approval of the form, nursing homes receive a lump sum payment for their cost increases.  Forms can be submitted once or multiple times between now and the annual cost report deadline of February 1, 2021. 

Providers should not claim on these forms any costs that are getting reimbursed through another mechanism, such as the various federal aid programs that are in various stages of implementation.
