Dellwood Gardens Receives Deubener Award

Posted on December 5, 2018 by Jodi Boyne

Dellwood Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care was recently honored with a 2018 Deubener Small Business Award from the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce. The Deubener awards are annually presented to five small businesses that exemplify growth, excellence, risk, diversity and innovation.

The Saint Paul Chamber received a record number of nominations this year for the five categories of the Deubener Small Business Awards -- Emerging Business, Non-Profit Services Business, For-Profit Service Business, Family-Owned Business and Woman/Minority-Owned Business.

Dellwood Gardens found out in October that they were nominated for the Emerging Business Award and were notified in November that they were one of three finalists. During the recent Tenth Annual Chamber Honors Dinner, it was revealed that Dellwood Gardens received the award.

“We were honored to be recognized in the community as a small business that exemplifies excellence, diversity and innovation among all the other businesses that operate in the city,” said Lindsay Schmidt, Marketing Director, Dellwood Gardens. “We hold ourselves and our staff to such high standards of excellence, care and service for the people we serve, and are so pleased to see our dedication and hard work be recognized.”

Dellwood Gardens, which is located on the east side of Saint Paul, opened in 2015. The community’s mission is to provide high quality senior care that is accessible and affordable for every cultural and economic background. More than 50 percent of the residents at Dellwood Gardens rely on waiver programs for support and services.

To celebrate its accomplishment, Dellwood Gardens hosted a dessert and coffee reception with residents and staff where they shared news about the award and thanked everyone for inspiring and empowering their community.

“Our staff were so proud when they learned we received this award. They come to work each day with a sense of purpose – to provide high quality care to all we serve, and they help us evolve to be more innovative in our services and amenities,” Lindsay added. “To be looked upon and respected in our field with this award is huge sense of pride for us all.”
